So, I participated in the 2012 Bloody Parchment event, an international short story competition that forms the literary arm of the annual South African Horrorfest, and I’m thrilled to announce that I came in as one of two runners-up.
First place went to Toby Bennett, whose story The Root Cellar will be the title entry in the Bloody Parchment anthology. The anthology will include the winning, runner-up, and finalist stories (thirteen in total – aptly enough!), to be published by eKhaya, the digital imprint of Random House Struik. Further details will be available soon but, in the meantime, you can find out more about Bloody Parchment, and the final cut of this year’s stories, here.
Congratulations to all the other finalists – I’m looking forward to being part of what promises to be a great anthology of dark fiction.
